Photographing Giants. Kubu Island Photo Workshop.

For a photographer the island is simply one of those places that get added to the bucket list of landscape locations. The baobabs are incredible, the night sky phenomenal and the vastness of the pan mesmerising.  If spending time under the stars capturing these gentle giants under a night sky sounds appealing, then we are heading there this August and would love you to join us.

Join the Hunter’s of Light community for an amazing weekend of photography training, locations and discussion photographing giants at Kubu Island. This workshop is led by two of the South Africa’s well respected and recognised professional photographer’s Emil von Maltitz and Quintin Mills. Click here to watch the promo video.

The theme for June/July is Birds in flight.

One of the most challenging photography skills is capturing birds in flight. It can be incredibly rewarding and equally, however, there can be nothing more frustrating. As with any and all types of wildlife photography, success is down to a combination of the usual factors which you have to juggle with: namely, light vs shutter speed vs aperture vs ISO. The action shot of a bird in flight has become the new standard to receive the oohs and aahs, so lets see your amazing shots of birds in flight. The winning image will receive a Canon Powershot Zoom from Canon South Africa.
