Celebrating Woman photographers in #Womensmonth

Unfortunately the work of women photographers has not always been recognised or appreciated other than in August every year. Sure, celebrating #womensmonth on the Hunter of Light might look like perpetuating that concept, but we are  trying to do our bit to celebrate the fantastically talented woman photographers we have in South Africa.

Creative showcase

First up is Grethe Rosseaux who’s creative showcase is on the YouTube channel today. It was a great creative showcase session and i encourage you to grab a coffee and check it out.

Panel discussion

I am planning a panel discussion to hi-light and discuss the issues women photographers come up against in a male dominated industry. The panel discussion will be streamed live on the YouTube channel so make sure you subscribe to take part.

Photo competition

We will also have a #womensday photo competition and the theme is “The epic, powerful and beautiful women in your life“.

But here’s the catch, the winner will be a women photographer.
I do encourage all photographers to enter as we have so many epic, powerful and beautiful women in our lives, but we are celebrating #womensmonth, so the winner will be a woman.
