July is Mirrorless Month

Canon South Africa was quick to respond as usual and I am happy to say that Nikon South Africa will also be showcasing their mirrorless offering and talking about new gear in the Nikon Mirrorless product lineup. I am hoping the others join in as we have had a lot of questions from members about which mirrorless camera to buy.

If you have been living under a rock and don’t know what this new fangled mirrorless thing is, this is the month we explore the mirrorless camera offerings out there.  There is such a wide variety of mirrorless cameras available these days that the choice can be exhausting. As i mentioned, I have invited all the mirrorless brands represented in South Africa to take part, i’d love to have them showcase their brand and camera offerings so you can make a decision on which brand to support.

Ok, it’s time to have some fun!

This is a theme that anyone can enter regardless of your photography skills and equipment, we are looking for creativity and thinking outside the box. You don’t need a “great white” lens or a sooper dooper macro lens, this is just creativity and experimentation. Your images do not need to be taken with a mirrorless camera, remember we are celebrating mirrorless with these images, so you can either go for a reflection (I know, it’s mirrorless… Irony.) by using a water puddle, mirrors, shop windows, even your phone’s screen as a reflective element to capture a reflection or you can go pure mirrorless – shoot a portrait of someone who got ready for work without using a mirror 🙂

Remember, we are looking for creativity and thinking outside the box!
