Birds in flight
It can be incredibly rewarding to photograph birds in flight. At the same time, there can be nothing more frustrating than photographing birds in flight.

With the addition of the monthly themes, the POTW competitions will come to an end.
By consolidating the POTW into a single competition linked to the monthly theme, you can focus on the monthly theme and win great prizes.
The previous POTW competitions will remain in place for you to view, but no new POTW’s will be added. Thanks to those who have entered and supported these weekly competitions.
The JOBY GorillaPod Original prize sponsored by Canon South Africa will be transferred to the monthly theme competition.

One of the easiest ways to improve composition is to maintain simplicity. A lot of cluster and busy elements in a photo can distract a viewer from the subject and the story you are trying to tell. Images that are clean and free from distracting elements look much more pleasing to the eye and naturally draw attention to the subject.

Silhouette photography is a wonderful way to convey drama, mystery, emotion and mood in a picture. A silhouette is defined as a view of an object or a scene consisting of the outline and a featureless interior, with the silhouetted object usually being black.
